Loofah is a product made from the dried out insides of the loofah plant - the same gourd family plant that can be eaten when it's young. People usually just eat the young loofah but when its all grown up and dried out, the insides get all stringy & turn into this kind of sponge-like thing. Loofah is most often used as a natural sponge for a bath soak, getting rid of dead skin cells, washing the dishes or just general cleaning around the house. Lots of folks like it though because its gentle on the planet, biodegradable and free of all the yucky man-made stuff. A lot of people also grow loofah plants in their backyards because they grow so quickly & produce a lot of 'em. With its loads of uses and being so all natural - loofah is a pretty handy & practical addition to your everyday life.
